LOATHES: history of magic, cowards, daylight, being annoyed and bored, fake people, being tricked, being told what to do, her mother, slightly her father, schoolwork, being at home, losing control or feeling like she's about to, using her vampire powers on people, feelings vulnerable
BOGGART: Andromeda’s worst fear is killing someone. When encountered with a boggart, the creature would turn into a dead body with all the blood drained out of it.
DEMENTOR: When she was younger Andromeda lost control of herself. She was inexperienced and it was her first time outdoors. Her father had foolishly let her out of the house believing she would be alright. He had been wrong, of course. A boy had fallen off his broom and was now showing the kids of the neighbourhood his heroic scraped elbow. Blood pooled from the wound, and Andromeda lunged at him and began drinking. The boy almost died, but brave bystander pulled her away and then she ran.
PATRONUS: Her patronus take the form of a snow leopard. Andromeda hasn’t really had a very happy life, but her best memory would be right before her first year. Her father took her to Diagon Alley to shop for school supplies. It was one of the only times he had done anything with her or actually showed an interest in her since her mother left them. She doesn’t remember it particularly well, but she remembera that her father was being pleasant. He bought her everything she needed, her great horned owl, Bludger, and even an ice cream cone.
VERITASERUM: She wants someone to love and be close to just for once in her life
STRENGTHS: quidditch, transfiguration, defence against the dark arts, astronomy
WEAKNESSES: her younger brother, blood, herbology, building relationships, trusting people[/SIZE]

OVERVIEW:
Riley Jackson. She was never particularly bright or brave, but she was impulsive. Very ,very impulsive. She did things without thinking them through and she often got herself into situations. And this is exactly how she found herself in a trap called marriage. Riley met Marduk Sanguini at the Hogshead. She kind of woman who had guys lining up to date her. She was beautiful – always flaunting those pale blonde locks and her blue eyes could make any man swoon. But after that, there wasn’t much to her. She was rather shallow – always concerned with herself and her appearance, and, of course, there was her impulsiveness. But guys fell for her anyway no matter the situation. However, for the past three years she had been in a steady relationship with a wizard of whom, she thought, was ‘the one.’ Turns out she was wrong though. After three years, he was sick of her. He broke it off, and she fled from him – heartbroken.
Sanguini was much different. Not many fell for him, not many at all. His pale skin, the dark circles under his eyes, and just his overall demeanour tended to turn people off. Of course, there was the added fact of his being a vampire. No matter how well he behaved himself, that fact did not change. So, unlike the witch, he was perpetually lonely. The two of them didn't seem like the most likely couple, but somehow after a number of very strong drinks, they fell in love.
Soon after they met, the two married thinking it was true love. It wasn’t though. They were both lonely and wanted to feel wanted and the other filled that empty slot for them. Andromeda was a mistake. She wasn’t supposed to be born. Riley and Sanguini never wanted children. Neither of them knew anything about taking care of and raising a child, but what could they do? So the little girl was born, and they named her Andromeda Rose. At first they resented her, but they soon warmed up to their daughter, and a year later they had another child. After that, twins were born.
By then, the magic of being together had worn off and they were just another bitter couple stuck together with children. They were beginning to realize how far from in love they were, and when Andromeda was only two, Riley left Sanguini, bringing the twins with her. Riley would have left the two youngest children too if they hadn’t been so young. Once Riley was gone, all the life drained out of Sanguini. He locked himself in his room and hired a maid to care for his to children. He hardly ever saw them. When he did on those rare occasions, he never looked straight at Andromeda. Even as a young child, she resembled her mother greatly. They both had pale, silky blonde hair and those icy blue eyes. He checked in on them every so often to make sure they were doing okay, but he never actually spent any time doing anything with them. Sanguini explained to them that they were half vampires, telling them that they had to resist their urges to drink other people’s blood. Their father wouldn’t let them out of the house or backyard to socialize with other children for fear they would lose control. He ordered blood from St. Mungo’s to quench their thirst, but they were young, they couldn’t have full control yet.
The two grew up with only each other since the maid treated with fear, and cowered at every sudden movement they made. At first it was hilarious to Andromeda, but soon it became tiresome, and she simply became lonely. She only had her little brother. She grew to be very motherly over him and protective.
It was a tiresome life. Andromeda was neither radiantly happy, nor spiralling into a deep, dismal depression, but the days had no meaning. They just slipped by, one after the other. Finally came the day when the two were let out. Their father had instructed them to not go farther than a block away from the house. They nodded willingly. Andromeda jumped up and down as she pulled on her shoes and walked out the front door. Together, she and her brother walked down the path from the house. As soon as they took a few steps on the pavement, Andromeda spotted a group of kids gathered together. Eager to make friends, she walked towards them. Peering over shoulders, she saw a boy in the middle of the crowd, showing off a large scrape to all of them, and explaining the heroic story behind it. It involved something to do with flying on his broom, but Andromeda wasn’t particularly paying attention. The wound was fresh and wet blood had welled in a tiny pool on his arm. Andromeda’s eyes widened as bloodlust overtook her. Before she even knew what she was doing, she found herself biting into his arm where the wound was, and she began sucking. The boy screamed in fright and pain, flailing his arm around as he tried to shake her off. That only made Andromeda bit down harder though. Everything around her became unimportant – blurring into the background. Even her brother’s frantic attempts to pull her away seemed foggy.
Slowly, the boy weakened. “Stop,” his voice was barely a whisper now. Andromeda’s brother gave one more heave and finally pulled his sister away. Where she had punctured the boy, he was bleeding feely and Andromeda’s mouth was covered in blood. Away from the blood and the boy, her head cleared and Andromeda looked in horror at what she had done. “Hurry, we have to run. Some kids called St. Mungo’s and other called the ministry!” Her brother tugged at her sleeve, so with one last glance, she muttered, “Sorry,” and they ran home. Sanguini was surprised to see his kids home so soon, and when he saw their expressions and the blood, his face fell. “I’m sorry dad,” Andromeda had cried over and over again. Of course, he told her that everything would be okay and that he would straighten everything out.
Sure enough, ministry workers arrived at their house. Andromeda had followed her father to the door, peering around his tall figure at the intimidating wizards. Before anyone spoke, she asked, “Is he okay?” Her blue eyes had been wide with terror. She wouldn’t be able to live with herself knowing that she was a murderer. One of the ministry wizards looked down at her sternly. “It might take a few weeks, but he’ll make a full recovery. But, miss, if you wish to live a normal life, you must have more control,” he admonished. Andromeda had hung her head and retreated while her father talked to the wizards at their doorstep. After that she had gone to her room and cried with relief.
One year later, Andromeda received a letter from Hogwarts. She was delighted to find out that she had been accepted to Hogwarts despite the fact that she was not completely human. Hogwarts had even assured her that the nurse of the school would provide her with blood if she ever needed it, and that there were plenty of animals in the forbidden forest to feast on. But, along with that joy, was terror. What if she lost control again? And her father had said that Hogwarts was a huge school. There would be tons of people, and that meant tons of blood to drink. Sanguini told her that she could stay here if she really felt that she couldn’t resist herself at Hogwarts. That comment surprised her. She had thought that her father would be glad to finally get rid of her. Stubborn as always, she turned him down, not wanting to run away from her fears. Her father seemed content with her decision and they went to Diagon Alley. It was a wonderful day. Sanguini was making an actual effort to connect with his daughter, though he was still distant.
And so that day finally came rolling around. She boarded the train and arrived at Hogwarts. As soon as she entered the great hall, Andromeda tensed. There were so many people. With a swift intake of breath, she smelled the blood that coursed through all of their veins, and almost stopped walking she was so overwhelmed. But she didn’t stop. She continued on her way up to the old hat on the stool. Andromeda was called and she went up, looking at the faces turned towards her. The hat settled onto her head. After a moment, its voice resounded through the hall, “Slytherin!” With a nervous smile, she took the hat off and went to join her fell housemates. They clapped loudly and some students pat her back as she walked by. Andromeda sat in a spot where it was less crowded. Andromeda took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. She smelled blood everywhere. Panic flooded her and she felt herself losing control. She closed her eyes tightly and balled her fists, trying to keep her focus on something else. The girl opened her eyes and noted every detail in the room. She looked over each and every student – focusing on how they were acting, what they looked like, and what house they were in rather than the blood part of them. Slowly, it began to work, and the urge to bite into everyone lessened.
Over the years, Andromeda never really made any friends. At first, people approached her eagerly. She looked like a nice girl, but Andromeda always remained strained around them and they couldn’t understand why. They all talked behind her back, calling her names, and making fun of her. Andromeda felt left out and sometimes she wished she was just a normal girl. Soon after that arrived, it was spread that she was half-vampire. She’ll never know how anyone found out, but they did, and everybody treated her either with fear, or like she was a monster, or both. Andromeda had never felt worse in her life. But, eventually, that new news became old news. Andromeda remained alone however. She couldn’t trust herself around people and continued staying away from them. That was when she gave up trying to care. She learned to be herself and not to be afraid to do or say the things she wanted. Since then, she’s gained a lot more control. It’s still hard for her, but she can be beside people without looking completely mental.

warm weather was so nice.
Heather smile brightly as a gentle breeze caressed her face, blowing back her hair. Spring was here, and the forest was once again coming alive. The beginnings of leaves peaked out from buds that sat upon not-quite-so-bare-anymore tree branches, ready to burst open at just the right moment. The girl brought up a hand, and gently skimmed the rough, cracked bark of a large tree as she walked along beside the stream that ran through the forest.
She was dressed simply in her bright orange camp half-blood t-shirt and a pair of jeans. On her feet was a pair of sneakers, worn with use. She carried no weapon - strange for a demigod. Since coming to camp, Heather hadn't taken well to weapons. The only thing she had excelled at learning was manipulating the water. Now, she always had a canteen of water slung over her shoulder, ready to use at any moment.
There was no particular reason for Heather being out here. She wasn't here to fight some monsters. It was far from that. Sometimes she just needed to get away from things. She often wondered what it would be like to just isolate herself from the rest of the world and live alone with herself and maybe an animal companion. Heather had always liked animals, and she'd never really been a social person. All the hustle and bustle about camp was sometimes too much to take in all at once. Her art was one escape, a nice walk was another.
Finally, the girl stopped. In front of her was a fallen tree that arched over the stream like a bridge. It was covered with moss and lichen. Heather thingyed her head to the side with a small lopsided smile spread across her face. She made her way towards it and stepped out onto it, bouncing herself up and down to test the weight on the tree trunk. It looked solid and it felt solid, so she walked out across it, careful to keep her balance, and then settled down right above the middle of the river.
Swinging her lets back and forth, Heather smiled, watching as the water bubbled by. With another grin, she reached out a hand and made an upward motion, focusing on the water. It obeyed and came floating up to eye level. She separated the blob, creating one perfectly round sphere while letting the rest of the water drop. It splashed back into the stream, but Heather was focused on her bubble of water. With her finger pointed at the ball, she moved it to and fro, bouncing it up and down. She loved playing with water like this. After a few moments, Heather let it drop, but then immediately drew up more water. She brought up much more than the last time. The blob was about as big as one of the cabins. It never rained naturally here in Camp Half-Blood, so Heather sometimes liked to make a little of her own rain. With all her strength, she threw the water upwards into the sky.
"Up, up and way," she thought with a giggle. Who knew how far up the water went, all Heather knew was that, eventually, it would come down and the effect would be somewhat similar to rain. It only took about a minute longer before drops of water began to fall. "Rain," Heather murmured, holding her palms up for the water to splatter down on. It wasn't as good as the real thing, but it was good enough and Heather had always wanted it to rain while the sun was still shining.
