IS GONNA BE TOTALLY AWESOME !
Oh, the shadows of doubt are in many a mind,
Lookin' for an answer they're never gonna find,
But they'd better decide 'cause they're runnin' out of time,
For these are the days of decision.

DEMENTOR: When he was in his second year, he spent much of his free time riding on his broomstick around the castle exterior. One day, while flying over the grounds, Vladimir was challenged to a broomstick race around the castle by a Gryffindor boy. The two were evenly matched and the competition quickly turned mean-spirited as the boys bumped and crashed into each other. Vladimir was the first to escalate matters and take out his wand after the Gryffindor boy elbowed him in the nose, almost dismounting Vlad. Both boys lost control of their respective broom after their hexes ricocheted off one another, and they crashed into the Hogwarts Lake. Vlad was pulled under by something he couldn't see (probably a grindylow). He struggled, terrified, but couldn't break free and began to black out. He woke up in the hospital wing to find that the Gryffindor boy had saved his life by casting a spell at whatever had grabbed Vlad and pulling him to the shore. Vlad now has an intense fear of deep water to the point where he cannot swim and refuses to go near the Lake. It is a very sore subject for Vlad, as he sees it as a great weakness; mentioning it to his face is liable to get you hit, hexed or worse.
PATRONUS: Peregrine Falcon; Vlad's father, Viktor Krum winning the earliest Quidditch game that Vlad can remember attending. He was just a small boy, but the game got him so excited, and seeing his father catch the snitch, feeling the happiness and glory as the crowd erupted in celebration and praise, Vlad knew that he wanted to be strong, powerful and famous like his father.
VERITASERUM: His doubts about being a Slytherin, his fears that he is getting out of control. These are secrets that Vlad keeps to himself to keep from being ostracized from his fellow Slytherins.

OVERVIEW: Vladimir Rayko Krum was born to Viktor and Belladonna (Hastings) Krum seventeen years ago. Being the son of famed Quidditch player Viktor Krum meant that Vlad wanted for nothing while growing up. Upon reaching school-age, Vlad was sent to Hogwarts. Viktor and Belladonna decided to send Vlad to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry rather than Viktor’s own alma mater, the Durmstrang Institute, because, at the time, Durmstrang was still in the practice of teaching its students the Dark Arts, and Viktor wanted his children to have nothing to do with it.
Vladimir was sorted into Slytherin, much to his father’s dismay, though the Sorting Hat seemed to have difficulty with him. While he sat there being sorted, Vlad could hear the Sorting Hat’s thoughts and honed in quickly on its musings that Vladimir would have great potential to succeed in Slytherin house. Being an ambitious child with dreams of becoming as great as, if not greater than, his father, Vladimir yearned to be sorted into Slytherin at that moment, and the Sorting Hat took his choice into consideration. Vladimir could not have foreseen at his young age the consequences of this action.
Being in house Slytherin affected Vladimir fairly quickly. He thought of himself as one of the elites; a famous and rich father, a talented young student, as well as a pureblood, and this train of thinking was constantly reinforced by the other Slytherin students. He joined in teasing and bullying other students, wanting to fit in with the rest of the Slytherin crowd. The following year, his younger sister attended Hogwarts and was sorted into Gryffindor, which surprised him and caused him to have doubts over just how much of a Slytherin he really was. Over the years, Vladimir, influenced by friends, dabbled in the Dark Arts and became more entrenched in the stereotypical Slytherin ways. He gave up bullying and teasing, seeing it as children’s games, and developed into a stern young man not prone to talking much, a lot like his father at his age. Always in the back of his mind there is a lingering doubt as to whether or not he is truly on the right path.
Vladimir is a young man confused and torn, but he compartmentalizes and pushes aside his fears and doubts to keep up his self-image. He resigns to his dark path, rationalizing that it must be the correct path for him if the Sorting Hat put him in Slytherin. What he fails to realize is that it was ultimately his choice to become a Slytherin, but that doesn’t mean he can’t change the path he’s on.

RP SAMPLE:Keiran browsed idly in between a row of bookshelves. He was in a muggle bookstore, a bookstore that just so happened to reside directly next door to the Leaky Cauldron, a bar and inn that served as the gateway between the non-magical world and the wizarding shopping street known as Diagon Alley. He knew that he was unlikely to see any witches or wizards in a muggle bookstore, despite its close proximity to the hidden world of magic. Even if some witch or wizard happened to pass by and recognize him through the window, his “odd” affinity for muggle books was quite well-known and it would not seem out of place for him to be there.
That was good. He didn’t want anyone to know what he was really up to. I mean, a Hogwarts professor meeting a student in a bar like the Leaky Cauldron? Even for the wizarding world, that was enough to raise a few eyebrows. He definitely didn’t want any rumors starting about him. He figured that if anyone saw him conversing with a student in the bar he could claim that he was looking through the muggle books and just happened to see one of his students in the gateway to Diagon Alley. It was less than truthful, sure, but his intentions were innocent enough and he didn’t want people getting the wrong idea about why they had met there.
Truth be told, Keiran was nervous about meeting Jade Van doren today, and not simply because of how it might look. The letter she’d sent him was strange, and the requested meeting place even stranger. The message was simple: a hastily scribbled note saying that she needed to talk to him as soon as possible and that she wanted to meet somewhere off campus. “The Leaky Cauldron, meet me there”, it had read. Keiran hoped that it was a simple matter relating to school. Maybe she just wanted to let him know that she needed a little extra tutoring for his class, and was too embarrassed to ask him at school (because, honestly, you never knew who or what could be listening in on a conversation at Hogwarts)? Maybe she just wanted to go over the syllabus now that she was a N.E.W.T. student? He knew that these hopes were naïve and pointless. In his gut, he felt that the meeting could only have to do with one thing, or rather, one person: Sheila, Jade’s mother. While Keiran had never said anything to Jade, she must have found out somehow that Keiran and Sheila had a past together.
A shopkeeper who had happened by asked Keiran if he could help him find anything. Keiran said, “No,” without even remembering to add the obligatory “thank you”. As he put back the book he had been thumbing, he tried to organize his nervous thoughts. Well, I’ve wasted enough time here. I really can’t in good conscience keep her waiting any longer, he thought. It was already ten minutes past their established meeting time, and if the reason she wanted to speak to him really was what he thought it was, he knew that she was likely just as nervous as he was, perhaps more so. He suddenly felt very guilty for keeping her waiting. How stupid of me! How self-involved can I get?! The poor girl’s likely just trying to find out about her mother, and I keep her waiting. Every minute must be like agony, he chastised himself. He could be very thoughtless sometimes. He figured that he just needed a few minutes to clear his head, but he didn’t even realize how long he had kept her waiting.
Keiran quickly left the bookshop and walked next door. Swallowing the lump in his throat, he pulled open the door to the Leaky Cauldron and stepped inside.
Keiran quickly looked around the bar. It was as dark and shabby as ever. If there’s one thing that’s never changed throughout the years, it’s this place, Keiran thought to himself. There were a number of older wizards sitting around the bar, as per usual. The air was smoky, and Keiran felt latent withdrawal symptoms. He wished he had a small pinch of tobacco now, to calm his nerves. Over the years, Keiran had tried to kick the habit to little avail. It had been a couple months since he had last lit up, and it certainly wouldn’t be prudent to start up now when he was supposed to be meeting a student. He tried to push the thought from his mind.
He noticed Jade sitting at a table in the corner of the bar. She gestured to him. If she was as nervous as he was, she hid it rather well. He began walking towards her, noting how severely out of place she looked in this setting. He noticed some of the older bar patrons sneaking looks at her, hardly even being subtle about it. It sickened him on several levels. This was a student of his, not to mention how much she resembled her mother. He shot some of the patrons an icy glance. A couple looked down at their drinks, but some just ignored him. He guessed that he wasn’t a very intimidating figure. He remembered what he was wearing. A blue wool turtleneck sweater with the Ravenclaw emblem… how fearsome, he thought glumly.
As he took a seat in the chair across the table from Jade she thanked him for coming. Her face was stoic. “Yes, of course,” he replied, and then earnestly, “I’m truly sorry for being late.” He considered giving her some kind of excuse for his tardiness, but decided against it. It hardly mattered now, and he wanted to get down to business. “I was surprised by your letter, Jade.” He called her by her first name. There were few students that he called by their first names. He was never that good at remembering names, but of course hers he always remembered. He continued, “I have to admit, I’m mystified as to why you wanted to speak with me so urgently. And… why here?”
He waited for her to answer.
