OVERVIEW: Emily Elizabeth McLaggen was born on a windy day in April as the first child of Cormac and Sylvia McLaggen. Cormac and Sylvia met two years after the defeat of Lord Voldemort in a small London pub and were married three years later. For the first eleven months of her life things were all about Emily, then her brother was born. With the birth of her baby brother Emily began to crave attention more and more. Being so close in age, however, as they grew older the two grew closer. It was like having a built in best friend. With a cheerleading coach for a mother Emily became involved with gymnastics and dance classes from a very young age. When she was only six years old Emily got involved with a junior cheer league where she made some of her very best friends.
Five years later Emily left those friends and her little brother for her dad's alma mater, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. To start Emily was very nervous about attending a new school in a world far away from where she had been raised in muggle tradition, much thanks to her mother, but then on that first night she met some amazing classmates who became her new best friends. She was terrified during her first flying lesson as all she could remember was that fateful day when she was eight but once she got back on the ground things were much better. She enjoyed Arithmancy and Astronomy greatly and had her eye on the spot of cheerleading captain from day one. She also seemed to have a natural aptitude for Charms and Defense. Unfortunately Emily wasn't so lucky when it came to Potions or Transfiguration.
Around half way through second year Emily's hormones began to kick in and she discovered how much she loved boys. Emily has since become the kind of girl who almost never turns down a date, but it's hard for guys to reel her in for a second. Emily has had two serious relationships. One less so than the other. Her first was at the end of third year and only lasted a month but she considered him her 'first boyfriend.' The last two months of fifth year, that entire summer, and the first month and a half of sixth year Emily dated another guy. This was the first boy she said she loved and the first boy she had sex with. After that breakup Emily was pretty out of things. She dropped a bit in her studies and threw herself into cheerleading, the thing that makes her happiest in the world. By Christmas break Emily was back to her normally spunky self.
Despite the fact that she knows what her strengths are, Emily is unsure of where she wants to take her future. Emily does know one thing though. Emily is very aware of what is starting to happen with the new group of death eaters forming in the wizarding world. She knows from history that they usually target muggles, and that causes her to worry greatly about her mother. After the deaths of Harry and Ginny Potter Emily went to her dad and begged him to take some sort of action to help protect her mum, prompting Cormac, who normally stayed neutral in any sort of conflict, to think things through before joining The Order of the Phoenix, which Emily does plan to join upon graduation.[/SIZE]

Seeing Riley threw Charlotte’s emotions into overdrive. With no other course of action she decided to go back upstairs to her room. Charlotte walked swiftly to the stairs but the image of Riley Callahan sitting in her living room was etched into her mind. She tried to shake it off but it wouldn’t leave. He looked good, Charlotte could admit to that, but that wasn’t enough for her to turn back and go running into his arms. She wasn’t that kind of girl. From what Charlotte could remember of the night that they had spent together it had actually been very good. Amazing actually. The thing that bothered her was that to Charlotte, sex was something to be shared by two people only when they were in love. She had definitely not been in love with Riley that night and if anything, his pursuit was about to drive her even further from it. Sure he had given her time but it hadn’t been enough. It would most likely never be enough time to heal the wounds she had now. Charlotte had only slept with three men in her entire life. Her high school boyfriend, her last college boyfriend, and now Riley. The first two she had thought she loved. Riley she was almost unaware of what it was she was doing.
As Charlotte approached the staircase she could hear Riley moving towards her so she picked up her pace. Unfortunately, Riley was faster. He grabbed Charlotte’s arm and she shivered at the touch. Memories of the last time that those hands had touched her flooded Charlotte’s mind. She struggled to pull away as the contact made her feel uncomfortable. As Riley spoke her name a chill ran down Charlotte’s spine. That was the voice that had been haunting her thoughts for the past month. It used to have a friendly connotation in Charlotte’s mind but now it had an extra air of unfamiliarity. This wasn’t the Riley that she had worked with last semester. It was the Riley who she had wound up in bed with almost one month ago.
Charlotte listened to Riley and gave herself some time to think. Were they really friends anymore? They hadn’t spoken since the incident. That was three weeks without speaking, something that never occurred between Charlotte and her friends. Charlotte was also very well aware that they had crossed the line between friends and something else. She wasn’t sure what that something else was and she wasn’t even sure she wanted to find out. The fact that Riley was able to acknowledge that things were weird comforted Charlotte, but not by much. To say that things were weird between the two of them was an understatement. Charlotte fought with herself to find the right thing to say but she came up with nothing. She could always just go back up to her room but Riley had a strong grip on her arm. Maybe if she was silent long enough he would leave her alone but she highly doubted it. Besides, they would have to work together eventually and who knew how long it would be until Charlotte finally felt ready to sort things out.
Eventually Charlotte decided to speak, but she kept her back turned towards Riley. She wasn’t ready to look at him just yet. “What do you want Riley?” she asked. “Do you honestly think we’re still friends after what happened at the Alpha Psi party? Things are more than weird for me. Do you have any idea what kind of girl I am? I don’t sleep with just anyone.” As Charlotte shot the words out at her former friend tears fell down her cheeks. She made an attempt to hold them back but at the moment it just wasn’t possible. “I can’t see you right now Riley.” Charlotte said softly. She tried desperately to remember whether or not Riley had been as drunk as she had that night. Part of Charlotte hoped that he had been so that she knew that she could still trust Riley, as he wouldn’t have been taking advantage of her. The other side of Charlotte wished that he had been sober so that she wouldn’t have to blame herself for what had happened.
