FAQ of Caitlin Flynn:
Who the hell are you?
Me? I'm Cait Flynn. Alright, so technically my name is Caitlin Flynn. But only my mother and professors call me that. To everyone else, it's Cait.
What's you're blood status?
If you really have to know, I'm a half-blood. My mom's a pure blood witch, my dad's a muggle-born wizard. But does it really matter?
What's your wand?
10 in, Willow and Dragon Heartstring. That thing has been through hell and back in the seven years I've owned it.
What house are you in?
'Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw, if you've of ready mind, where those of wit and learning will always find their kind.'
When's your birthday?
Aww...were you planning on giving me a present? It's the nineteenth of May.
Where's that accent from?
The same place as me: Bray, Ireland. I lived there until I was eight or nine. Then my family moved to England, which is where we now live. However, I visit my muggle grandparents every summer, and they live on a farm in Ireland.
What's your Patronus?
When I was little, my parents sent me off to live with my dad's parents for a few weeks. Honestly, I was dreading it. I mean, what little witch-to-be wants to go to a muggle farm? Very few, if any. Well, I got to the farm, and my granddad gave me a tour of the facilities. The last stop on the tour was the stables. Can you see where this is going? If you guessed something involving horses, you are right. Your prize should be arriving in the mail. Anyway, I saw this beautiful, chestnut mare. My granddad saw me staring at her, and asked if I wanted to ride. I said yes, of course, and that started my life-long love of horseback riding, and the tradition of going to visit my Flynn family.
My patronus is a beautiful, silvery horse.
What are you like?
God. I hate that question. Hmm...okay. I guess I'm funny. I like making people laugh, even if it's at my own expense. I'm sarcastic and witty, like any good Ravenclaw. Along with that, I'm clever. I memorize things like spells and such easily. However, potions tend to blow up in my face. Literally. And me and plants? Yeah. we don't exactly get along. I can be kind of cocky and a bit of a know-it-all. I'm not the most social person ever. However, the friends that I have I am fiercely protective of. They become part of my unofficial family. Messing with me is a bad idea. Messing with my friends is asking to be hurt. Mess with my baby brother? Nice knowing you.
I'm stubborn and opinionated. It takes a lot to sway my opinion. And by 'a lot', I mean you better have a damn good reason. I won't shove my beliefs down your throat if you don't shove your beliefs down mine. My most noticeable quirk is that when I'm thinking, I chew on thinks. My nails, my hair, my necklace... it's just a habit I never grew out of.
What do you like to do?
Well, I love Quidditch. It pretty much owns my soul. But I love listening to music. I like reading a lot, and I do have a lot of time for it after Quidditch season. I enjoy spending time with my friends. I ride horses during the holidays. I like doodling. I can't draw anything beyond plant life and stick figures, but the margins of my notes have lots of those two things in them. As do my shoes.
Anything else you like?
I love Care of Magical Creatures, Transfiguration, and Defense Against the Dark Arts. They're my best classes, after all. I like warmth and fire. Chocolate. Chocolates high on my favorite list. And hugs. I am a hug whore, I admit it. I love hugs. I'm also addicted to hoodies, watermelon gum, and water.
What about dislikes?
I. Hate. Snakes. I have a serious fear of them. They're just so...snaky. Gah. I also loathe the cold. I go at great lengths to avoid it. The only time I really tolerate it is when I'm playing Quidditch. Then I get over it. I think I've already expressed my feelings about Potions and Herbology. I am not good. I firmly believe that Ignorance killed the cat and that curiosity was framed. I hate jerky, close-minded people. And I dislike paper cuts with a passion.
Any deep dark secrets?
Yep, let me just tell those to a random stranger. What kind of an idiot do you take me for? Actually, on second thought, don't answer that.
Do you have any siblings?
Yes. One older brother, Aiden, and one younger than me by two years. His name is Jordan. I love both of them beyond all reason. Liking them, however is another matter entirely.
What position do you play on the Quidditch team?
I'm the Seeker. I'm small, fast, and I have a good eye.
What do you want to do with your life?
I either want to be a professor of either Transfiguration or Defense against the Dark Arts, or a professional Quidditch player. I don't suppose I could do both, could I?
Who are your parents?
My mother is Maria Rue Flynn (nee Faolan), a former Gryffindor. My father is Robert Henry Flynn, a Hufflepuff alumni. Both work for the Ministry of Magic.
Are there any other important figures in your life?
Well, my grandparents on my dad's side. My Grandmother's name is Theresa, my Granddad's name is Joseph. Then, there's Adagio, the first horse I ever rode. Hmm...that's about it.
What are your favorite scents?
The smell of apples, horses and leather remind me of my grandparents. I like the smell of books, vanilla, cinnamon, and rain, as well.
What was your childhood like?
Well, I was born in Bray, Ireland. I had two brothers- Aiden, who was older than me, and Jordan who was about two years my junior. We were very close, and I was the voice of reason of our trio. Okay, it was more like they'd suggest we go do something stupid, like, oh I dunno, annoy the gnomes. I'd say "Uh, no. That's a stupid idea, they'll bite our kneecaps off,' or something along those lines. They'd go do it anyway, and a good portion of the time, I was right. Except for the knee-biting thing. I don't think gnomes actually do that.
Anyway, I've been flying since I could get on a broomstick and not fall off. My mother was a fair flier herself, so she was able to teach the three of us decently. We moved to England when I was about eight or nine. The main reason for this was because my brother was going to Hogwarts, though my parents deny it vehemently. They didn't want him being quite so far away, which I can understand. It doesn't mean I was happy about leaving, however. Far from it. They had to drag me out of our old house kicking and screaming. Not exactly the most pleasant of memories.
I went to Hogwarts two years after Aiden, and I was impatient for it. How could I not be, with the stories my parents and brother told me? After my eleventh birthday, I looked through the mail myself, hoping for my Hogwarts Letter. Now, deep down. I knew I wouldn't get it until summer. But I was a kid, and I wanted that letter more than anything. So when I finally got it, I almost started jumping for joy.
That trip to Diagon Alley wasn't my first, but it was different from the others. I was getting my school supplies, as I told all the shopkeepers. I found my wand on the second try. The first time, I accidentally set the shopkeeper's copy of the Daily Prophet on fire, which I apologized profusely for. But the minute I held the next wand in my hand, I knew that it was that one. The wand-choosing was took the most time, as if often does.
On my first train ride to Hogwarts, I was nervous. Not so much about school, but more about what house I'd be placed in. My father said that he'd love me no matter where I was put, but I knew that her was hoping for Hufflepuff. And Mum? She was outright rooting for Gryffindor. But personally, I wanted Ravenclaw. The people in Ravenclaw were smart, creative, witty...everything that I thought I was. So when the hat was placed on my head, and when it said 'Ravenclaw'...I was overjoyed. I sat down at the table, and that's when my life as a Hogwarts student began.
That's where I end my childhood. I'm now in my last year at Hogwarts. There has been drama, and many a trip to the hospital wing. But I wouldn't give up any single on of those moments for anything...okay, maybe a few. But let's not get into that. Most of the moments I'd give up were the ones involving a stupid boy who I stupidly gave my heart to and ended up breaking it. "[/SIZE]
