The room was silent but it was weighed down heavily in the tension that coated it. A man in finely tailored dress robes sat at a desk looking quite displeased. On the other end of things sat a young man of twenty three, dressed in causal jeans, a tightly fitting shirt and a pair of sunglasses on his perfectly messy hair. His expression was casual but there was a distinct shadow of a mischievous grin etched all over his face. He was leaning back on the chair, much like how a boy in school would if he was getting in trouble over something he hardly cared for. The man on the other side of the desk seemed to take notice of the casualness of the other man despite the thick layer of dissatisfied tension there was around them. The young man looked on the wall complacently. All around the room, on shelves and on the walls were team photographs, trophies, and plaques all showing the accomplishments of the storied Falmouth Falcons. The variance in the two men was unquestionable, the tension was obvious, and the situation was unfortunately common place.
The older man sighed, his white hair seemingly getting whiter with each strenuous moment. He tapped his hand on the desk before leaning forward, "Chris," he said sternly,"We've been having these meetings all too often lately."
"I know," Christopher Davies said as his attention went passively back towards the owner of the Falcons and for all intensive purposes, his boss, "You can't make it so obvious that I'm your favourite Marty, the other guys are getting jealous."
"This isn't the time for jokes Chris. Some of the team officials have been talking about suspending you for your behaviour. Not to mention the league is losing its patience for your antics. You know your actions do have consequences. What you do reflects the team and this league."
Chris snorted, "Sounds like the league's jealous you're keeping me all to yourself." he said.
The owner was not impressed. He ignored the last comment and continued, "You better start taking yourself seriously Chris---You'e too talented to let it all get washed away but stupid decisions. You're running out of second chances."
Chris had to hold back rolling his eyes. It was the same speech he got all too often and it went in one ear and out the other. "Is that it boss?"he asked as he pointed behind him towards the door, "Can I go?"
Marty waved his hand reluctantly towards his young star which gave Chris the indication to leave. He stood up, winked at Marty and hurried off towards the door.
"Be sure to be in London in an hour! You've got some team publicity!"
"Yeah, yeah!"Chris called back, already out the door. Again, this seemed to be yet another thing that went in one ear and out the other of the reckless twenty-three year old.
***
The streets were busy in London when Chris arrived. He walked down the streets, a bit aimlessly, looking for something fun to do. He was already bored but he knew that he had half told Marty he'd be around for Falcons press stuff. He wasn't into the whole press thing to begin with but he knew he would be having more meetings with Marty, who was not the best of company most days, as well as the fact that he had been crashing at his team mate's flat for a month and he if didnt show he knew he mate would give him an ear full.
Early was a new thing for Chris who was notorious for being late for anything and everything. As he turned the corner he bumped into a girl who recognized him. She squealed as her eyes grew wide. She rummaged in her purse until she found some parchment.
"There you go love,"e said with a wink as he signed his name and a witty little inscription. She giggled and squealed as he gave her back her quill.
Waving goodbye he continued on his way to where ever his feet were to carry him. He half wished that something interesting would happen to help him pass the time...

It wasn't everyday that Dominique got to go to muggle London on Ministry business. But each time she got the chance to go she made sure to spend a lot of time there. She loved London and especially loved shopping here. So many more styles than the wizarding world had. However today was a sad day because she had to spend most of her time in London in an office. She had been sent over to talk with the Prime Minister of England or whatever his title was. Usually the Minister of Magic did this himself but he thought he would have more of a chance getting what he wanted if he sent Dominique. Yeah, the thought process there was send the young, veela secretary to muggle Prime Minister's office. He is bound to agree. And of course the Minister of Magic was correct. It took a little bit of persuading but Dom got him to agree to everything the Minister of Magic wanted. Thank you low cut blouse, short skirt and high heels.
Another joy Dom found in the muggle world was how quick muggle men turned their heads to look at her. Especially in her outfit today because she was dressed to impress. She had a small pull on wizarding men but it seemed to do more to the muggle men. The looks she got from their girlfriends made her laugh. If she actually planned on stealing their boyfriends away they would be stolen already. The whole thing just made Dom walk with more confidence, as she went through the streets, window shopping.
Out of the corner of her eye Dom saw two people bump into each other. However the smaller person seemed to be excited about something and was quickly grabbing something out of her purse. She watched as the girl pulled out a quill and Dom knew immediately the girl was a muggle born. She had nothing against muggle borns but did they have to be so obvious? The wizarding world was supposed to be a secret and the muggle world definitely didn't use quills. But then it got her interested in who this young woman wanted an autograph from. Oh and of course it just had to her ex-boyfriend. Half of her wanted to just walk away but she couldn't walk away from him. Not this time.
Dominique walked over to him with a rather large, fake smile in her face. She had to have confrontation with Chris. It was the only way she could possibly get over him. Three years of being together and it all crashed and burned after one fight. This definitely wasn't over. "Trying to get with even younger girls now, love?" Dom said as soon as she was close enough to him in sickly sweet voice. Just being this close to him she wanted to kiss him. Sure she was the only one who actually thought of their relationship as a relationship but after being friends with benefits for three years there should definitely be feelings somewhere.

Chris Davies never set much by following rules. Actually, one could make a case that he didn’t even understand the concept of them. For Chris they were just easy obstacles trying to impede him fun. While at Hogwarts Chris broke every one there was and now that he was graduated not much else had changed. He didn’t follow the rules set by his team—even the simplest ones like curfew or no drinking the night before a game. He surely didn’t follow the leagues rules with the amount of times he had received owls from them. No, Chris very much walked to the beat of his own drum and had not faced the consequences of doing so but in time everything would catch up and Chris would be drowned in the process. A person only got so many second chances in life and by all accounts Chris had used up his share.
Smirking at the girl who he had signed the autograph he pushed the hair from his face in the classic Davies way. He could still here the girl giggling as she walked quickly away, most likely to go tell all her girl friends. Chris had a way with women that was envious to most guys and a puzzle to most girls. He was a charmer if nothing else. He had a way of making them feel as if they were the only one in the room. For as long as they could hold his favour they were treated like queens. He made them feel special, like they were it...but those moments were far and in between from lasting. He had a habit of being the type to love ‘em and leave ‘em but there were the odd time that he had stuck around for a while. If he saw what he liked he would go for it and even if they weren’t too great, after a couple beers they seemed to be just right.
He shook his head as he started to laugh at the though. He looked over across the road and that was when he saw her; that blond bombshell that had a stare that held you, a body that rocked you, and a walk that killed you. Dominque Weasley, a very recent flame. Chris and her had been hot and heavy for a very long time. If Chris was keeping track properly, she was probably his longest relationship...if you could count what they had as a relationship, and all too often Chris didn’t. They were together, unofficially, for three years, give or take. The world knew they were dating, even if Chris himself did not. They had never labelled themselves as anything but it didn’t take a genius to know that after three years something had to give. Friends with benefits was not going to cut it and in the end either would Chris. The first sign of seriousness, Chris bolted. End of story...but not the end of Dominique.
"Trying to get with even younger girls now, love?" her voice sultry, daring. It was enough to get him wrapped all up in her all over again. Damn veela.
“Always the charmer, aren’t you Dom,” he said sarcastically with a devilish grin. This was the first meeting since the break up...wait, was it a break up? Chris didn’t know.
“I figure I better start young...don’t you have some younger cousins?” he added jokingly, though his face was fierce as he stared at her.
Dom always seemed to have this kind of power over him. He seemed to be someone completely different...almost better around her. When things were good between them, they were amazing, but when they were bad, these two surely brought out the worst in each other.
“From what I here little Lily’s legal now,” he added his devilish smirk taking over his face.
He wasn’t sure how their meeting would go, though the words were all joking both could sense the icy tone underneath them. Their wounds of their messed up non-relationship were still quite fresh and time would only tell how it was going to play out.

In Dominique's fourth year at Hogwarts, a young man, who was a sixth year student started to flirt with her and eventually Dom agreed to a date. After a date there was a second one and after two weeks of dating the young man told Dominique he loved her. Of course she said it back what else could she say, yet she fell right into the young man's evil plot. One thing lead to another and Dom gave him everything. Next morning, she was pushed out of his room and that was the end of the relationship. She was heartbroken and swore to get back at him. That was when she learned how to flaunt what she had and flirt to get what she wanted. Relationships wasn't what she wanted, she just wanted company. After that night Dominique didn't want another relationship and she didn't have one.
Until Chris Davies came along and changed everything. He was everything she wanted in a guy and was well skilled at the game she played. Hell the first night she met the guy she slept with him. He didn't want a relationship and neither did she but neither could deny the attraction. Friends with benefits it was but neither had other partners. To everyone else the two looked like a relationship but for them their wasn't a label. They didn't want to label it because then it would probably ruin everything. Except once Dom started to bring Chris to family gatherings, her family wanted to know about the two. Of course Dom's parents and siblings knew that Chris was a friend but the other family members weren't too happy with that answer. So she started calling Chris her boyfriend, it was simple enough, and he really wasn't. It was to make her parents happy. But after three years with him, Dom expected something. And of course he ran away.
Dom couldn't deny she missed him. Missed everything about him, even their stupid arguments. Even though the two never made anything 'official' she still developed feelings for him. She couldn't stop them from forming even if she tried. What happened when someone was around someone for so long. Seeing him out and about like nothing ever happened hurt her. In her book he was just like the guy from her fourth year but worse. So she was going to strut her stuff and show him what he was missing. Course he could so the same and Dominique was a jealous bitch.
"I try to be, but it's usually not my charm that gets people." Dom told him with a wink. He should know better than anyone else that her charm didn't get her what she wanted. It was her looks. It was always about her looks.
When he mentioned her cousins she couldn't help but raise a eyebrow. He wouldn't dare. Actually she wouldn't let him." Stay away from my family. They know who you are. And know how long you were with me, or whatever you want to call us." It was just a warning for now. She would be equally pissed at any of her female cousins who dare flirt with Chris. Everyone could see that he was important to her.
"How about trying someone outside of the Weasley/Potter clan? I mean you don't have any brothers or cousins I can flirt with. Only fair." Dom told him still hating that the two weren't as close as they usually were.
"What are you doing in London anyways? Went through all the witches already?"

If Chris was going to characterize his and Dominique’s relationship he would have to consider the words thrilling, hot, and heavy. The two of them seemed to balance one another out when they were together. Dominique was one of the few who knew how to handle Chris, but not only that she was able to keep up with the fast paced Quidditch star. Every move he made she countered with her own. She had a retort for every comment, a move for every motion, and an intoxicating smile that rivalled no other. From the beginning Chris had been taken by Dom which he initially thought was only skin deep. She was unconquered territory and he was always up for a challenge. But what started out as physical quickly moved far beyond that, even if neither one of them was willing to admit it.
Their little non-relationship had lasted three years. Chris remembered setting her straight the moment they hooked up. They were just friends who liked to have fun and Dom was all for fun. Chris didn’t do relationships, especially since back then he was about to embark on a completely new pool of gorgeous women. It was his first year going pro and he was going to make it worth it, but he never anticipated Dominique. He didn’t realize the hold she had on him until his first substantial trip away from her where he had the opportunity to hook up with another, very attractive witch, but in the end could not bring himself to do it. He guessed the sex with Dom was really that good if it kept him in check when she wasn’t even around. Technically if he had hooked up with that witch it wouldn’t be considered cheating as he and Dom were never official. Still, it was strange what a good looking witch could do to a guy.
“Right,” he said looking her up and down with a knowing smirk, “It’s that wonderful personality of yours.”
He said this all sarcastically because the two knew exactly what she was talking about. Dominique knew she was hot and used it to her full advantage. Of course being part veela did give her a leg up on any competition.
“Depends on who you ask, right?” he said in response to her statement about their relationship.
To many people they considered Chris and Dom to have been dating, especially the majority of her family. Others saw it completely for what it was, a hook up with two attractive people and one was definitely playing the other. Somehow in those renditions Chris always came out the bad guy taking advantage of the innocent blond but Chris knew if anyone was capable of playing anyone it would have been Dom. The two of them played the game well and more often than not played each other equally in his mind.
“Would booty call be politically correct?” he said quite sarcastically. He always had a rather wicked sense of humour. Both parties knew it was far more complicated than that, but neither would ever admit it out loud. He let out a devilish laugh at this joke as he pushed a hand through his messy hair.
Since when was Chris ever politically correct? If anyone had ever read a statement he gave in the papers he was about as raw as one could ever be. He didn’t much care about image or being diplomatic in his answers, if his team played like shit he said it. He was too the point which the papers loved and his bosses hated.
“Outside the clan?” he laughed, “ You’ve just removed about a third of the population. Totally not fair.” He added with a wink.
Chris didn’t think he would ever go for a Weasley or a Potter after being with Dom, but he couldn’t be sure. Granted, a good majority of them wanted to kill him for whatever they thought he did to do, but that was beside the point.
"What are you doing in London anyways? Went through all the witches already?"
Chris rolled his eyes, “You’re hilarious, did you know that?” he said cheekily, “I’m obviously here to find you...because you’re the only reason I have left to live...or whatever it is you girls want us guys to say here.”
He couldn’t help it, even when she was being relatively civil he had to go there and through in a bit of nasy humour. Chris could never be serious and what was more when he masked the way his true feelings were he always came across a bit harsh and not caring.
“And let me guess you’re here hoping to run into the best looking guy you’ve ever been with,” he then said after a moment, the grin reforming on his face.
The easy answer was for him to say he was here for a meeting, a meeting he couldn’t miss and couldn’t even be late for. He was on thin ice at work but did that make him exit the conversation to get to this pressing appointment? Not in the least.
