ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:
the storm outside raged. trees blew in the breeze and rain pelted the window. a streek of lightning illuminated the sky. safe under the covers, lola tossed and turned. with a jolt, she sat up and sucked in a breath. she rubbed her eyes and ran a hand through her hair. she had been dreaming a good dream, not a nightmare. but the dream had been startling to say the least. in the dream she had seen a child, a boy. his dark hair fell over his eyes and was mused messily, not unlike adam's. his blue eyes watched her intelligently. then, he ran away. he just turned and ran. lola called after him but he kept running. a woman stood beyond. her face was vieled by a sheet of blonde hair and lola could tell that she was who the boy was running to. on cue, he ran into her arms. she picked him up and looked at lola, hair flipping back to reveal her face. lola gasped. it was herself. behind the other lola, adam walked up and kissed her cheek.
of course, the dream was great. but the ominous feeling she got from it was the startling part. falling back against the pillows, lola turned and was met with the handsome face of her husband. during the day, his bright white teeth would flash again his tanned skin. his blue eyes would watch her playfully and his dark hair would stick up at odd angles. she loved him with everything in her being. he was the reason that she lived and breathed each day. though both of them had busy schedules, they made time for each other. they planned regular, uncancellable date nights and just hung out in their spare time. they would go to restaurants and clubs just to be in each other;s company.
sliding out of bed, lola took a last, longing look at adam before heading down the hall. she caught a glimpse of herself in a mirror and winced. it was a wonder anyone would love someone that hideous. her blonde hair was frazzled and sticking up. though she had washed her face, it was flushed and blotchy. her eyes, blue as they were, were blood shot from lack of sleep. add a mole or two, some bushy eyesbrows and some yellow teeth and she could be a witch. padding on, lola opened the door to the spare room and turned on the light. it took a moment for her eyes to adjust. the room was empty but the walls had been painted yellow and several pictures of herself and adam hung from them. this would be the room.
she had talked to adam about the big subject. they had gotten married, that was a checkmark. but lola wanted a family. a big family. she wanted kids running around her house. she wanted to take her sons to soccer or football and her daughters to dance. she wanted babies. touching her stomach, lola's eyes glazed over. she could imagine their family. little boys like the one in her dream. with dark hair and blue eyes. and little girls, blonde and blue eyed. beautiful children. a beautiful family.
but adam wanted to wait. he wanted to get himself grounded as an established actor and be able to support a family before they had one. as if they couldn;t support a family now. between herself and adam, they generated enough to buy their luxurious lifestyle. she could respect that adam wanted to wait but lola was growing impatient. she felt a pain in her stomach and eyes widened. maybe waiting wouldnt be a problem anymore. maybe she had the answer to her prayers. padding to the bathroom, lola took out the thing she had been keeping in secret for nearly two months. a pregnancy test.
pissing on a stick wasn't the issue. it was the psycological factor that did lola in. "come on," she muttered. finally, she got enough on to activate. all that was left to do was wait. pacing, lola nibbled on her bottom lip. she waited for five minutes. after that, she checked the test. her heart fell. she wasn't pregnant. the little negative glared up at her accusingly. she was so ready to jump the gun for her own personal gain, she hadn't thought about anything else. what about her career? what would she do for five of the nine months? what about after the baby was born? adam was right. he would need to be the provider. lola smiled, he was always right. she through out the test and scurried back into bed. adam's arm instictively went around her. she stared out the window and smiled. rain, she had always loved rain. and when she finally had her baby, it would love the rain too.
