ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:
School was school and as a junior the only worse thing then being there was knowing that you had yet another year left doing the same old stuff. However, when you were finally a part of the biggest clique in the entire school, you learned that life was actually better then you could have imagined. As a freshman, Emmeline Weller wasn't much of anything. She hardly looked anything more than a scrawny little girl who couldn't dress to save her life. She wore baggy clothes, she didn't fit in, and if it wasn't for the school uniforms she wouldn't have a sense of what to wear to impress people. As a freshman though, Em didn't exactly want to impress anyone. She was content on being with her few friends, studying, and getting good grades. However there was something that Emmy felt was missing and that was why over the summer of her freshman year, Emmeline decided she needed to change.
It was for the better of course, or so she told herself. Emmeline wanted to be accepted after so many years of blending in. She wanted to stand out, she wanted to make a name for herself, after all, she was living in the upper east side- she had just about everything going for her. Sure, her parents didn't make a lot of money, but they offered her cash if she needed it and their house was of decent size. In fact, underneath the baggy clothes and framed glasses was actually a very pretty girl with a pretty decent figure. After a long transition and a lot of careful understanding, and watching, of how the upper east siders behaved, Emmeline Weller was ready to take on the task of finally being one.
She quickly learned, after sneaking into a few select parties, that people didn't want to hear about you, but wanted to hear about themselves. They turned the other cheek if you said you were anything but full of money. They wanted to be friends with people like themselves. So a new plan hatched onto the back of the one that Emmy already had. She began to lie. She twisted fables about her expensive yachts and designer bags. She told people of her trips to Europe and how mommy and daddy didn't care what she did as long as she was living her life to its potential. This lying game seemed to rise her up a little higher in social standing and the small victories were what mattered as they gave little Emmeline a little more hope for her future. Then Blair spotted her- the infamous Blair Waldorf. Now that wasn't something to be taken lightly and the day it had happened, and many days later, Emmeline was still very much in shock and disbelief. After all it wasn't very likely that the former queen bee showed any interest in a small nobody like Em.
However, Blair very much had a liking for the young girl, she fixed up her hair, made her presentable, and put Em on the radar of Violet Vanderbilt. That was the start of her story, the reason that Emmeline didn't mind going to high school everyday. Violet knew her secret, in fact that girl found out almost immediately, like she had a sixth sense and smelled the poorness/lack of fitting in that radiated off of her small body, despite the fact that she was trying to come off confident. Emmeline wasn't sure why the girl didn't just expose her for a fake liar and be on her way, but she wasn't going to ask, because after that acceptance she was in.. sort of. She had to prove herself over and over again. She was constantly bringing coffees and stopping for frozen yogurt just to get under the good graces. She knew she had to work twice as hard as the other girls, she had more to loose then any of them. At least if the other girls were kicked out from the group they had Daddy's money to pay for their grieving expenses. If Emma got kicked out she had nothing except a job and a lousy year left of school at Constance to show her guilty, pathetic, face.
Now she sat in the courtyard looking around for the queen bee herself. She had two frozen yogurts, one for each of them. She wasn't sure why she'd went with froyo instead of coffee, it just seemed like one of those days. She'd bit her lip lightly as she fiddled with the hem of her skirt. She'd probably should have been studying, with an exam in chemistry two days away, she needed all the time she could get, but she figured that her social climb was far more important then her future life, so she left the book in her bag and let her eyes linger around. The other girls were sitting with their peers, laughing, joking, and having fun, while others were watching just like her. They were waiting to make their own moves, playing the game to their own advantage. Emmy assumed that everyone were social climbers in their own sense and way, whether it be in their own friendships and the picking of their leader or people looking on the outside hoping to get in. There was always something going on but most people never stopped to think about it. She placed the frozen yogurt on the other side of the table and looked up, a small smile on her face.
