THE SCARS OF YOUR LOVE

"Hello. Isn't that the way to start a conversation nowadays? I have a lot to say so you had better take a seat. My name? Pleasure to meet you, I am Elise. Full name? What is this, some sort of interview? Elise Leila-Rose Bluud. Yes, as in the red stuff that is running through your body right now. No, two 'u's instead of 'o's. Don't ask me, I didn't make up the spelling!
Psst...wanna know a secret? You do?! Great. First I have to ask you a question. Do you believe in 'mythological' creatures? Oh you know, like unicorns, witches, wizards, werewolves, vampires.......... You do? You're a witch? Fant-bloody-tastic. Well hey, nice to meet you, I'm a vampire. Don't worry, I've had my fix for the day, you're fine. No no, really, as tantalizing as your neck may look I'm not going to bite you. I just want to talk. Haven't you ever wanted to just talk before? To get out everything that's on your mind? Share your story with the world...or just simply with one person? It's your lucky day my friend. Yeah that's right, get comfy, this is going to be a long one.
How old am I? Doesn't anyone know it's not proper to ask a lady how old she is? Honestly! Honestly? I don't know. No I'm not kidding, I don't know how old I am. How old do I look to you? 257?!!? Why that's just cruel. I'm twenty-three...eternally. Hey, I think it's a perfect age, I'm not complaining. Sure, I never made it to my 'golden' birthday [would have had to reach twenty-nine for that], but that's alright...youth looks good on me.
I don't remember much of my childhood. Just a few snipits here and there, and they tend to pop up in dreams. Even I get tired sometimes and need my beauty rest. One recurring one was from I'd guess around age 4...no, maybe 7...my hair was too long for me to be four years old. There was this huge field...it was beautiful. I had a sunny yellow dress on and thin sandals. I ran through the field of yellow and green laughing, my long brunette hair flying back behind me as I was chased by a gorgeous brunette woman. Just when I'm about to get a good glimpse of her face...I lose it. I believe that woman was my mother, but that's all I can remember of her.
I don't remember the transformation. If I do, I've blocked it out and forced myself to forget it. I'm told it's horrific. Lexus Bluud changed me. As the story goes, I was in an accident. I don't honestly know what kind of accident. You see, I don't know if it was ten years ago, or if it was a hundred and ten years ago. I've told her not to tell me. I've blocked out any knowledge of time passing. I just simply don't want to know. I ignore calendars, or at least the year on the calendar. It's just another day.
I remember waking up. I was laying underneath satin sheets, and I opened my eyes to see a canopy of black sheer silk that curtained all the way down surrounding the bed. It was eerie yet beautiful at the same time. Then the thirst hit me. I wanted to scream in agony, but I couldn't make a sound. I wanted to beg for water, but something inside me told me that water would not suffice. I felt like I was in a dream, but I couldn't wake up. I pinched myself and bit my lip when it actually hurt.
A beautiful woman entered the room and handed me a glass of a dark liquid. I looked at it, a question forming on my face. Before I could speak she shook her head and urged me silently to drink. I did so. The liquid was thick. At first the taste threw me off, but after one sip the thirst grew and I gulped it down. She gently began to ease the lights on. I sighed, after finishing the glass, and settled back against the pillows on the bed. I licked my lips, tasting the liquid. I knew what it was now, but I was tired. So tired. I didn't want to question it. She smiled and brushed some hair out of my face, kissing my forehead. "Sleep." She said. "I'll explain when you awaken." I didn't need to be told twice, my eyes slid closed and I fell into a deep sleep.
When I awoke the woman was there waiting. She introduced herself as Lexus Bluud. She told me that she knew I had a lot of questions, and her first answer was that I was perfectly safe. She knew I was scared, but she assured me she wouldn't hurt me. She told me to take a breath and prepare for a shock. I bit my lip, and drew blood. My teeth were surprisingly sharp. "Careful there, love. You're going to want to kick that habit." I licked up the blood. "I think you already know." I nodded shakily. She smiled sweetly. "It's okay, I'm here to help you. There's nothing to be afraid of." I whimpered slightly and she opened her arms. Something made me feel safe enough to settle into her arms. She wrapped me into a warm embrace and ran her fingers through my hair as I shook slightly, trying not to panic, even though that's exactly what I was doing. I was afraid...afraid of what I was becoming...a...monster. She tensed slightly. "You're not a monster. You're a vampire...but you're not a monster. You're still you...just...modified. It'll take a little while to get used to, but you'll be alright. I'm here to help, and so is my husband Bloodwyn and your adopted siblings. There are four of them. We're a family now, Elise. We stick together." A warmth spread throughout me and a small smile appeared on my face. Family.
It took me a while to get used to, but I did get used to it eventually. My siblings have been tainted longer than I have, but I lived a human life longer than some of them. I don't live in the same house as them anymore, though there's always a room there for me if I want or need it, and I appreciate that. As soon as I was able I got myself a job and a place of my own and I moved out.
I've done a number of different jobs. I was a waitress for a while, a bartender, a secretary, an assistant in a library, a babysitter [that one was dangerous], a stripper [don't judge, good money!]...I've worked in Zonko's, Honeyduke's, Eyelops Owl Emporium...you name it, I've probably done it. Right now, I'm exploring journalism. I've applied to be a writer for The Daily Prophet and we'll see where that gets me.
I love to people watch. I also love to write. I love to sing. I love life. I'm you're average 23 year old woman...only I'm a vampire. So yes, I drink blood. I don't kill people. I was a witch before I was turned, and I still carry a wand and use magic. That much hasn't changed. Just my physical being has. I can't change who I am, I can just embrace it.
What side am I on? What side of what? Light or dark. Oh heavens. I'm not taking a side. It's not worth my time. Honestly? I don't care. I really don't. So what if a war breaks out? I'll be long gone. I'll keep updated with the papers and I'll stay away. Coward you say? Never. I'm not afraid of a fight, I'm just not going to fight for something not worth my time to fight for. I'm here eternally. I know things will change and that's just something I've accepted. Change can be a good thing. So no, I'm not on a side, and really if I were, do you think I'd tell you?
I think I've done enough talking for one day don't you? If there's anything more you'd like to know, just ask, I've got time...in fact, I have forever.

role play sample:The steady buzzing of the alarm clock went on for three minutes before a slender pale hand slunk out from underneath the covers and slammed down surprisingly hard on the machine. A heavy sigh escaped and the sheets ruffled as a body stretched beneath them. Elise sat up. She rolled her head to one side, eyes closed, and then to the other. She stretched her arms and let out a yawn. Then her eyes flickered open. Her tongue ran over her teeth, and she threw back the covers and her feet with her red painted toenails softly hit the floor. She stood up, stretched one more time, and then headed to the kitchen.
Opening the fridge she sighed. She simply wasn't in the mood for blood, but she knew she needed it. She grabbed a small vial, and a carton of orange juice. Followed by an apple, banana, and peach. She dumped a glass full of orange juice into a blender, followed by the fruits and the blood from the vial. Once blended, she drank straight from the blender and licked her lips. Perfection.
Two hours later Elise was dressed and walking the streets of London. She found a quiet park with a large tree to sit in the shade. She pulled out her notepad and sat back, her eyes open, ready for a show. It was her favorite pass time. Sitting in odd spaces, or perfectly normal spaces, and watching life go by. It gave her the greatest ideas for stories. She clicked her pen ready to write, and waited for the next big adventure.
