I'M THE NEW CANCER •• N E V E R • L O O K E D • B E T T E R •• A N D Y O U C A N ' T S T A N D I T- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Training had been crazy in the past week for Eglantine. It was all ‘you have to be ready for this’ and ‘you should be thinking about that’ and all about thinking about the future. It was a little nerve-wracking for Lana. She just wanted to hold on to being young for as long as she could, and it was getting harder and harder to do so. She didn’t want to grow up. She just wanted to lie in flower beds and spin in circles in the house she still shared with her parents and stay up all night. It wasn’t too much to ask for, she still had another year of training left before she became a full-fledged healer. Life might catch up with her sometime soon, but that day still wasn’t today, and that was all Lana cared about.
Eglantine normally didn’t go into Hogsmeade anymore; she was out of school so she hadn’t really seen a point in going. But with the pressures of growing up pounding down on her recently, she had been looking back towards the past. Almost wishing that she could run back to it and just stay there, not needing to worry about anything. Apparating to the streets of the small village outside Hogwarts, Lana smiled as she took in the crisp air. Her light blue muggle retro-fifties-inspired dress bounced against her legs as she made her way to The Three Broomsticks. After a long day of hearing that she needed to start thinking about health plans for the future or something like that (she had been trying to tune it out), she needed a drink. She wanted to go back to being a kid, and The Three Broomsticks was the perfect place for her to get both things that she wanted.
”One firewhisky please.” her voice sung in the air as she reached the counter. Her eyes scanned the room as she waited for her drink. The place wasn’t too crowded, being that it was summer so the school crowd wasn’t there, but it still had a decent amount of people for the place to make some money. Leaving the money on the counter, she wrapped her fingers around the drink, walking over to a nice empty table in the corner. She just wanted to drink and hopefully be transported back to the past and not have to worry about growing up for just one more night.

Scorpius looked at the Longbottom with rough and icy hollow eyes. It had been in Hogwarts the last time he heard her annoyingly sweet sing-song voice along with her perky like aura. He could pick out she seemed partially tired; exhausted, but it didn’t exactly stop him. It didn’t in the past and it certainly wouldn’t now nor the future. He had a strong dislike for Longbottoms then and it still remains now. They’re just as bad as mudbloods in his eyes. Getting up from his seat, he turned and took a seat across from her as he put his hood down. “Appears, not even a sly cat can stay away from a dingy little bar.” Folding his hands together, he leaned on the table when a woman walked by and placed his drink on the table and walked away. Smirking, at the woman, it faded just as quickly as he looked back to Eglantine. Picking up the mug and taking a drink only to momentarily savor the taste on his tongue then swallowed it.
Looking the clothes over on the girl across from himself, “A tad outdated, don’t you think?” he questioned, looking up the rest of her and met her eyes with his own frozen like eyes. Gesturing to her blue fifties style dress; as he himself dressed in a black suit of a silk like material just as he had during school and he didn’t have to be in uniform. Of course, the black suit made him look paler than normal which made his tattoo of a scorpion by his left eye stand out even more. The corners of his lips curled into a smirk; wondering how long it’d take her before she’d get up and run from him or even change tables. On the other hand, he started to wonder if she figured he might have grown up and matured since their school days. Truth of the matter was, he was mature from the day he first wore a suit to Hogwarts before changing into his school uniform.
“Waiting for someone?” Glanced to the door, “I don’t believe you’re going to have any other company.” Chuckled and leaned back in the seat while cautiously turning the mug on the table. He cared not to fully ask what she’s been up to but then thinking more on the question he really didn’t care at all what she was doing in the last few years. Part of himself wondered if she’d gotten herself killed yet, but atlas, this Longbottom is nothing more than like those of her parents. With that, he glanced to her with a keen eye and wondered exactly she was. He had his moments throughout school where he could’ve been questioned about his own personal loyalties but those who really knew him knew where they’d lie. That started a whole new line of questions in his mind. “Scraping by yet?” Smirking, he kept his chuckle to himself, “You must be considering you’re in this place for a drink.” [/style][/style] |

I'M THE NEW CANCER •• N E V E R • L O O K E D • B E T T E R •• A N D Y O U C A N ' T S T A N D I T- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -She had a few precious moments to herself and her glass of firewhisky before her peace was broken. Just enough time for one good drink of the cool liquid, feeling the slight burn against her throat as it slid down, then he had to come and ruin her sweet alone time. Scorpius Malfoy. One of the biggest stuck-up assholes in the world, still behind Hugo Weasley though. Not that that made it any better that he was there, sitting across from her. Eglantine Longbottom wanted nothing to do with the pale ridiculous looking Malfoy boy. “The Three Broomsticks has never been a ‘dingy little bar’, you dimwit.” the words came out through clenched teeth as she squinted her eyes, glaring at him. He was nothing but dirt beneath her fingernails to her, and she wanted to make sure that he understood that. “That would be The Hog’s Head – where you belong. Not stinking up my space.” her nose curled up in disgust as if she smelled dung beneath her nose, as the words dripped off her tongue. Lana didn’t want to be this close to him – not at all, but she wasn’t going to be the first to leave. Hell no. she had sat at this table first. This spot was hers
. He was the one who needed to get the fuck out. A snort escaped her throat as his words left his mouth. He was trying to call her outdated? Now that was pretty funny. Not to mention insulting. If anyone was outdated, it was him with his whole thought process and life. “Being a blood purist has been outdated now for a while too, and I don’t see you wanting to change.” she snapped back at him, keeping her glaring eyes glued to him so he didn’t do something that she didn’t see. She didn’t trust one little thing about him. “You look like shit with that eye tattoo.” she added, rolling her lip up in disgust. Really, face tattoos had never been in style. They just looked tacky and ridiculous. He already wasn’t attractive in the first place, the tattoo just made him look like a blubbering idiot. Bringing the glass to her lips, Lana took a big gulp, letting the liquid flow down her throat freely. She had just come here for a good drink, and if she couldn’t have it in peace, she was damn well going to have as much firewhisky as she pleased. Lana barely heard the words he spoke as she put her drink back down, her mind was off somewhere else; she was too busy debating whether or not she should throw a drink on him. But she didn’t want to waste her precious drink. She could always use a spell, but it normally worked best for her if she was really pissed off and she was only slightly pissed off at this point. Damn, she wished she had her potions with her. As nice as her dress was, it didn’t really have many places to put potions and/or plants. And she doubted she would have been carrying the poisonous ones around anyway. “Shouldn’t you be in that dump that you work in or something?” she spat at him. He was intrigued by her mere hatred towards him. He didn’t ever make any sense to it being that he was always intrigued by those who hate him; maybe it was due to the overly caring parents which he grew to loathe over the years. “Any bar, is a ‘dingy little bar’ Longbottom.” He retaliated, allowing his amusement to be known. As much as he didn’t like her and enjoy her company, he couldn’t deny; pushing her buttons was something he did always enjoy. “Dimwit?” he questioned, “Attempting to broaden your insults, lil’kitten?” He did have to wonder exactly how much of a rise he could have her purr out towards him. Being in such a dangerous game, he’d need to be prepared for anything. Waving off her statement on Hog’s Head as he dismissed it, “I’d be here on business, otherwise, neither dingy place.” He stated almost casually. He knew how to be subtle and mature at times which would bring out a more casual time but it was always short lived.
Amused by her snort, he waited for another wave of her retaliation all the while keeping his amusement slightly tamed. “I wouldn’t bate that on truth, inequitable lady.” He noticed she didn’t take her eyes off him, and he couldn’t help but show a smile even though for him, everything was like a double edged sword. “You’re flattering me with your glued onto me eyes.” He commented and took another drink while he too didn’t take his eyes off her. He believed all too well, this Longbottom would attempt to poison him. “Thanks for still caring and being so concerned.” he looked at with pleasure written all over him, “A bet; lost.” He threw that out like a bone to a hungry dog. He believed she’d make a play or attempted with it. He did after all enjoy tossing them to her ever so often. “Do you care to know more?” he asked, as if dangling that same bone.
Watching her take a drink and he took one himself; he didn’t remove his eyes from her. He was almost certain his death by this woman was being plotted on the other hand he wondered if she was just pissed off. The very idea made him smile on the inside as he kept himself emotionless on the out. He preferred no one to actually know what he was thinking or feeling and so the best solution is to make himself unreadable. “Again with the caring.” He shook his head, “Business. I had someone to meet here. Business concluded I stuck around for one more drink” Looking her in the eyes that shady almost threatening shimmer returned to his eyes, “lone and behold, you walk in.” His tone betrayed him by allowing itself to give way he was up to something, he just wasn’t sure if he actually was or if it was just a ploy. A ploy? Now there’s something he could very well use about now. No, maybe not at this point, he’d wait to see how she took everything he already dangled about for her. Course, so far, he also hasn’t made anything up just yet. [/style][/style] |

I'M THE NEW CANCER •• N E V E R • L O O K E D • B E T T E R •• A N D Y O U C A N ' T S T A N D I T- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -This man was just intolerable. He was too calm. He seemed like a snake (with her being a cute little bunny) that was trying to slither its way into her rabbit home. She didn’t trust with a continent between them, let alone a table. She would just have to think of a way to get him to leave…one that wouldn’t get her kicked out, preferably. “You should get your eyes checked.” she suggested, not bothering to take a quick glance around to prove her point, their wasn’t really much dingy about The Three Broomsticks, just the way Lana liked it. “We do it at St. Mungo’s, and I’d be very happy to check your eyes for you.” a smile crossed her lips, as the overly sweet words fell out of her mouth. Oh yes, she would more than happily check his eyes; so she could throw something in them. Something that would blind him sounded nice. Though maybe she should work more on making him mute, so she wouldn’t have to hear his sickening little voice. “Attempting to sound like an even bigger snarky bastard than you already are, gitface?” she rolled her eyes, he was too full of himself.
Ignoring the business comment, Lana took another drink of her firewhisky. She didn’t care for any business that he would have been doing, and that would most likely make things too dark for her. She liked fun and happy, nothing serious. Not that she was getting her way this evening it seemed, or even this day at all. “That’s because you’re stuck in the past.” she told him, as if it were a known fact. Not that she excepted him to take her words as truth, even though he should, but people who were stuck in the past often didn’t admit it. They also often didn’t understand that the world had moved on without them, and Scorpius was definitely one of those people left behind. “Anything would flatter a self-absorbed douche like you, Malfoy.” a snarky tone weaved its way into her words as she spoke. She didn’t care what he was saying, he was just trying to get to her like usual. She had to watch him, it would be too much of a risk otherwise. “I don’t see you looking away either.” she commented, smirking slightly. He didn’t trust her, good.
“Not really, I would have to actually be interested in something about you first, and that doesn’t sound very fun.” she faked a yawn, showing her disinterest in any story centering around him. So he lost a bet, big deal. Anyway, it seemed a little too down the serious and dark road that she chooses to never take when she had the option. Eglantine didn’t like taking things seriously, and this meeting was one of her more serious times. She didn’t like it. making it more serious sounded terrible. “You’re parents must have been as loving as rock if you think anything I’m saying would be along the lines of ‘caring’.” she shook her head. “But, it’s not like anyone could actually love you.” she added, looking him up and down with a disgusted look plastered over her face. She had to try and go after him if he was going to go after her. More business talk, was he trying to get her to ask questions? She didn’t trust what he was up to. “Oooh scary, business. Is that supposed to be threatening or something?” she rolled her eyes, if she could avoid taking something seriously, she would.
